Check your AI spend budgets

Machine verified A machine ran this on our install and checked the result against the CLI. A test report is linked. CLI 0.3.1, checked 2026-10-15.

What am I spending on AI?

See the caps on your agents (cost, iterations, tokens) and how much of each is used, checked against the CLI.

What you get: the limits your agents run under, and how close they are, before you let them loose.

Ask about the limits in your own words:

quox · talking to Quox

What limits does my spend budget set: the iteration cap, the period it runs for, and does it stop work at the cap?

You have one budget, scoped to the sentinel-heartbeat iteration.

• Iteration cap: 10,000 iterations. The cost cap is $1.00. There is no token, tool-call
  or duration limit.
• Period: 8 May 2026 to 7 June 2026, which is 30 days. That window has already ended,
since today is 16 October 2026.
• Stops work at the cap: No. Hard stop is off, so reaching the cap doesn't block
  anything.

Nothing has been spent: $0.00 and zero tokens, so usage is 0%. Because the period has
lapsed and the budget never enforced a stop, it isn't constraining anything now. If you
want a live limit, you could create a new budget with hard stop on. I can give you the
exact command if you'd like.

Quox read the budget and its usage: the caps, the period, whether work stops at the cap, and what has been used so far.

The scope says what the budget covers (the whole org, one objective, one run). The cost cap is in micro-USD, so 250000000 is $250. With hard stop yes, work stops at the cap; with no, the cap is a line the run can cross, and the overage shows in the receipts.

Reading a budget changes nothing, so it never raises an approval. Creating or changing one (quox budget create, quox budget update) is a separate, governed command that leaves its own receipt.

quox budget get <id> shows one budget in full.
