Name and resume a session

Machine verified A machine ran this on our install and checked the result against the CLI. A test report is linked. CLI 0.3.1, checked 2026-10-15.

Can I find this work tomorrow?

Give your work a name you will recognise, and resume it again later.

What you get: work you can pick up again by name, from this machine or from any session that checks the name out.

Say what to call it:

quox · talking to Quox

Make a slot called release-ec5cb6 so I can find this work again tomorrow.

▤ AOCL │ L1 identity complete · allowed · 1ms

▤ AOCL │ L3 policy gate complete · proceed · 11ms

◐ SLOT │ slot_create name=release-ec5cb6 ✔ SLOT │ slot_create name=release-ec5cb6 │ Created slot release-ec5cb6. · 6.6s

⛓ AEE │ envelope opened · stream_success

The slot release-ec5cb6 now exists. It's free, so nothing is holding it yet.

I only created it. This conversation isn't attached to it. If you want tomorrow's
session to pick up this work, check the slot out from that session, or ask me to attach
this one now.

A real turn on our own install (CLI 0.3.0, 16 Oct 2026), replayed at speed. Names changed. Type the same words into quox.

Quox made a slot: a named, durable address for the work. It stays on your Quox, so tomorrow you find it by name instead of by scrolling.

Start with a name: quox -n release-checks, or name it later with /rename release-checks. Next time, type /sessions in quox to list recent conversations with their names.

A slot outlives any one session. Any session can check it out, and messages sent to the slot reach whichever session holds it:

From a real run on our demo organisation.

quox slot checkout <name> --session <your-session> holds it for this session. quox slot read <name> shows what was said there.

quox --print --conversation <id> "<prompt>" carries on a conversation without opening the terminal UI.

Conversation names are kept on this machine. A slot is kept on your Quox, in your organisation, so another machine or another session can pick the work up under the same name.

quox slot list shows every slot, who holds it and how many messages are unread.

A free slot holds nothing. Release a held one with quox slot release <name>.
