Quox is a self-hosted control plane for AI agents, founded in January 2026. It gives agents real access to your systems while you control what they can do, approve what matters, and keep independently verifiable evidence of every governed action.
The platform ships 168 governed tools, a free core, premium plugins and enterprise contracts. A student and a FTSE 100 company install the same thing.
Pre-revenue. Pre-raise. Not pre-product. Every component is running code.

Four protocols, specified and open.
We wrote protocol specifications rather than proprietary formats, and they are implemented in the platform. All four are live IETF Internet-Drafts. An Internet-Draft is a working document, not a standard, and is not an endorsement by the IETF.

Quox LTD is a UK software company. It is not a financial-services firm and has no relation to Quox Capital (quox.io).
Quox (pronounced “kwox”) is an invented name. Unlike AEE, AOCL, VOLT and WARD, it is not an acronym. What is a Quox?

Why I built Quox AI
As AI became more powerful, I wanted to deploy more and more automations across the businesses and clients I am responsible for. But agents need somewhere to live. They need to be monitored. They need to have great logging that tells you everything that happened.
Sometimes you need to prove what happened and when and why. They all need various levels of access to varying levels of blast radius and potential damage. They need tools. Sometimes delegation.
Often they would need human assistance to operate safely around my businesses and clients. I needed to be able to run numerous automations in multiple places safely and reliably.
