When no tool exists
Agents that draft their own.
When no tool exists at all yet, an agent can draft its own inside a locked-down sandbox, for a human to test and install before it ever runs.
Describe the tool in prose and Toolsmith writes it: schema, implementation, danger analysis. It runs nowhere until a human tests it, installs it and assigns it, and it executes only inside a capability-dropped, non-root, network-isolated sandbox. Fourteen hardening fixes came out of its own security audit before anyone outside the team touched it.

Early access means
What early access means here.
Both pillars work and are tested; neither is cleared for public production yet. The hosted runner has a credential-handling gap our own status docs call out, the sandbox is limited to internal users, and authored tools do not yet leave a permanent signed record. When those close, this label comes off: until then, bring dev workloads, not production secrets.
