YouTube channel management and video publishing from QuoxCORE.

Overview

The YouTube plugin lets you upload videos, edit metadata, manage playlists, and monitor your channel directly from QuoxCORE. No switching between YouTube Studio and your dashboard. Upload a video, set the title and tags, choose a thumbnail, add it to a playlist, and check performance from the same panel.

All uploads default to private. Making a video public requires explicit two-step confirmation. Google OAuth credentials are stored in the integrations vault with encrypted storage. The YouTube agent confirms every destructive action before it runs.

Setup

1. Enable YouTube Data API v3

Go to the Google Cloud Console. Create a project (or use an existing one) and enable the YouTube Data API v3 from the API Library.

2. Get OAuth tokens

Use the Google OAuth 2.0 Playground or your own OAuth flow to obtain an access token and refresh token for your YouTube channel.

Set your OAuth client credentials (Client ID and Client Secret) in the Google Cloud Console under APIs & Services > Credentials.

3. Store credentials in the vault

Go to Settings > Integrations in QuoxCORE and add a YouTube credential. Enter your OAuth access token and refresh token. The tokens are stored server-side in the integrations vault and never sent to the browser after setup.

4. Connect your channel

Open the YouTube plugin from the sidebar. The setup panel asks for:

• Channel ID:your YouTube channel ID (starts with UC...)
• Default Privacy:Private, Unlisted, or Public (Private recommended)
• Default Category:the YouTube category for new uploads (e.g. Science and Technology)

Features

Video Upload

Upload MP4, MOV, and WebM videos directly from the dashboard. Resumable uploads handle large files and network interruptions without starting over. Set all metadata before uploading:

• Title:up to 100 characters
• Description:up to 5,000 characters
• Tags:comma-separated keywords
• Category:select from YouTube's standard categories
• Privacy:Private, Unlisted, or Public

All uploads default to Private. Changing to Public requires a separate confirmation step.

Metadata Management

Edit metadata on existing videos without opening YouTube Studio:

• Title, description, and tags
• Category and privacy status
• AI-assisted suggestions for titles, descriptions, and tags based on video content

The agent can suggest SEO-friendly metadata when asked. Metadata changes require confirmation before applying.

Thumbnail Upload

Set custom thumbnails on any video. Requirements:

• Format: JPG or PNG
• Maximum file size: 2 MB
• Recommended resolution: 1280 x 720 pixels
• Minimum width: 640 pixels

The NANOBANANA agent can generate thumbnails on request and the YouTube agent will upload them.

Playlist Management

Organise your channel content:

• List all playlists on the channel
• Add videos to existing playlists
• View playlist contents and ordering

Channel Overview

The channel dashboard shows key metrics at a glance:

• Subscriber count
• Total view count
• Video count
• Recent upload performance (views per video)

Analytics Dashboard

View channel and video performance over time:

• Total views, watch time (hours), average view duration, subscribers gained
• Daily views bar chart with period selector (7 days, 28 days, 90 days)
• Per-video filtering to drill into individual video performance
• Data sourced from the YouTube Analytics API

Comment Management

Read, reply to, and moderate comments from the dashboard:

• Comment feed with author, date, text, and like count
• Inline reply drafting with user approval before posting
• Moderation actions: Published, Held for Review, Rejected
• Reply count badges for active threads

Scheduled Publishing

Schedule videos for future publication at a specific date and time. Videos must be set to Private before scheduling. The agent confirms date, time, and timezone before applying.

SEO Optimisation

The YOUTUBE agent applies search best practices when suggesting or editing metadata:

• Titles: 60 characters or fewer, main keyword front-loaded
• Descriptions: first 150 characters are critical (shown in search). Structure with hook, key points, links.
• Tags: 5-15 relevant terms, mix of broad and long-tail (500-character limit)
• Chapters: suggest timestamp markers for videos with clear sections

Ask the agent to "optimise my latest video" and it will fetch current metadata, suggest improvements, and confirm before applying changes.

Caption Upload

Upload SRT or VTT subtitle files for accessibility and search discoverability. Captions improve viewer retention and make content accessible to a wider audience.

Agent Chat

The YOUTUBE specialist agent is available in the chat sidebar. Ask it to upload a video, update metadata, check analytics, manage comments, schedule publications, or optimise SEO conversationally through CommanderQ.

Safety

All upload and modification actions are gated by the AEE audit system:

All uploads default to private. The agent will never set a video to public without explicit two-step confirmation from the user. The kill switch is enabled. If something goes wrong, disable the plugin instantly from Settings.

The YouTube agent works with NANOBANANA for AI-generated thumbnails. Ask the YouTube agent to "generate a thumbnail for my latest video" and it will coordinate with NANOBANANA to create one, then upload it.
