The Prompts Library is a free plugin that provides instant access to real system prompts from popular AI coding assistants and agents. Whether you are building your own AI agent, studying how leading tools work, or just need a starting point for your prompts - this library has you covered.

Browsing prompts
The library interface provides multiple ways to find the prompts you need. Navigate to/prompts-library in the dashboard to access the full collection.
Categories
Prompts are organised by AI tool or company. Each category has a distinct icon and color for easy identification:

Search & filter
Use the search bar to find prompts by name, description, or tags. The sidebar provides quick filters:
- Category Filter: Click a category to show only prompts from that AI tool
- Tag Filter: Click popular tags like "coding", "agent", "tools" to narrow results
- View Toggle: Switch between grid and list views
- My Prompts Tab: View only your custom prompts
Using prompts
Copy to clipboard
Every prompt card has a copy button. Click it to instantly copy the full prompt text to your clipboard. A checkmark confirms the copy succeeded.
Customise before use
Most prompts are designed as starting points. Before using a prompt:
- Review the prompt structure and understand its sections
- Replace placeholder content (like tool definitions) with your specific tools
- Adjust the tone and style to match your needs
- Remove sections you do not need to reduce token usage
Creating custom prompts
Click "Create Prompt" in the header to open the prompt editor. Fill in:
- Name: A descriptive title for your prompt
- Description: Brief explanation of what the prompt does
- Category: Choose from the list or use "Custom"
- Tags: Comma-separated keywords for filtering
- Content: The full prompt text
Custom prompts are saved to your browser's local storage and appear in the "My Prompts" tab. They persist across sessions but are specific to your browser.
Export & import
Backup and share your custom prompts with the export/import feature:
- Export: Click the Export button to download all your custom prompts as a JSON file
- Import: Click Import and select a JSON file to add prompts to your collection
Prompt sources
The curated prompts in this library are sourced from the open-source repository x1xhlol/system-prompts-and-models-of-ai-tools on GitHub. This repository collects publicly available system prompts from various AI tools for educational and research purposes.
All imported prompts are licensed under GPL-3.0 as per the source repository. Custom prompts you create are your own and can be exported for use anywhere.
