What it does

Converting experience into recall

The hippocampus converts fleeting short-term experiences into durable long-term memories, organising them by context and enabling recall through association rather than rigid lookup. QuoxMemory mirrors this with multi-tier storage: localStorage for fast client-side access, SQLite with FTS5 full-text search for structured server-side recall, and Qdrant vector embeddings for semantic similarity retrieval.

Six distinct memory types cover facts, episodes, preferences, procedures, entities, and system knowledge, with entity relationships forming a knowledge graph that connects them.

Truth arbitration resolves conflicts when new information contradicts existing records. Memory promotion gates control when entries move between tiers based on access frequency and relevance. Session journals are auto-saved from every chat conversation, preserving full context without manual effort. Memory quotas per tier prevent any single category from consuming all available storage.

Memory is the most connected implant in QuoxMind. Every other implant reads from it, writes to it, or both. It is the shared state that turns isolated interactions into a continuous working relationship.

Shipped

Shipped: episodic and semantic memory, entities and session journals persist server-side through SQLite with FTS5, with quotas enforced per tier. The entity relationship graph is wired but sparse in production today (a handful of relations org-wide): the "knowledge graph" is real code, not yet a populated graph.

Before / after

What changes when Memory is active

Before

Every conversation starts from zero. Context is lost between sessions.

After

Quox remembers what you discussed, what you decided, and why. Continuity across sessions.

Before

You repeat preferences, explain context, re-establish facts each time.

After

Facts, preferences, and entity relationships persist. You build on previous work.

Before

No history of what worked or failed in the past.

After

Episodic memory of past actions, outcomes, and decisions informs every future interaction.

Before

Isolated interactions with no relationship depth.

After

A continuous relationship that deepens over time. Quox knows your systems, your team, your patterns.

Connected implants

QuoxMemory connects to every implant in QuoxMind. These are the primary relationships.

Basic memory ships free with QuoxCORE. Advanced memory features, including episodic recall and entity graphs, are available with QuoxMind Pro.
