Ask your brain why

Documented Checked against the CLI's current help and source. Not run end to end. CLI 0.4.0, checked 2026-11-05.

Is that true, and how does it know?

Check a statement against your own notes, pull the cited passages on a topic, follow the links between notes, and see why one came first.

What you get: answers you can trace. Every result names the note it came from, so you can read the source before you rely on it. You need: NotesQ and a signed-in profile. About 6 minutes.

The brain (Qortex) reads your notes. For this run we wrote three short, made-up notes about a boiler service business, linked with [[...]]: a “Boiler service policy”, a “Service checklist” and a “Decision: Gold plan call-outs”.

The source shares the claim's words; not checked for meaning. Read the cited note before relying on it.

The policy says Gold plan call-outs are free, so the claim is contradicted, and the check names the note that contradicts it. Each source is marked overlap, contradicted or no_support. The check says plainly how it decided: by shared words, not by meaning, so read the cited note.

Give why a search and a note id and it says where that note ranked for the search, and on what. For a note that did not come back, it says why it was left out.

Every command read your notes and changed nothing, apart from the one line we appended in step 4. Each answer named the notes it came from, by id and file, so any of them can be opened with quox brain read <noteId>.

quox brain read <noteId> opens the cited note, so you can compare a check’s verdict with what the note actually says.

We removed the three example notes afterwards with quox notes rm <id> --yes.
