File an email, with your say-so

Machine verified A machine ran this on our install and checked the result against the CLI. A test report is linked. CLI 0.4.0, checked 2026-11-05.

Can you file this one for me?

Name the email and the folder. Quox finds it and raises a proposal you approve later.

What you get: tidy folders without letting an agent rearrange your mailbox on its own.

Say which email and where it goes:

quox · talking to Quox

Do not move it yourself. Raise a proposal I can approve later to file the email "Accepted: Weekly team sync" into a folder called Receipts ac83b7.

I've raised a proposal to file the email, and nothing has moved yet.

• Proposal: inbprop_mw331bhm_gqik5peq , status "proposed", "NOT EXECUTED".
• What it covers: the one message matching "Accepted: Weekly team sync". It's from
Calendar, and says Sam Whitlock accepted your Monday 09:30 invitation. The destination
is a folder called "Receipts ac83b7".
• Folder creation: the account had no custom folders, so I set the proposal to create
"Receipts ac83b7" if it's missing. Approving it covers both the folder creation and
  the move.

You can approve or deny it in the InboxQ Approvals card whenever you like.

Quox found the one matching message, saw the folder did not exist yet, and raised a single proposal that covers both creating the folder and filing the email. The proposal says “NOT EXECUTED”: nothing has moved.

Terminal window
quox mail resolve <proposal-id> --decision approve
quox mail resolve <proposal-id> --decision deny

quox mail propose --account <account-id> --kind file --payload '<json>' creates the same kind of proposal from the shell. --kind also takes block and draft.

The proposal was stored on your Quox, against your mailbox, and the mail server was not touched. Approve it and Quox creates the folder and moves the email over IMAP. Deny it and nothing changes.

quox mail moves lists recent moves Quox made, most recent first, so you can see what an approved proposal actually did.

Deny the proposal and nothing happens. If you approved it, quox mail undo <move-id> moves the email back to its source folder.
